Job summary

Automation Personnel Services seeks a Materials and Purchasing Manager for a facility in Elkmont, AL. You will ensure uninterrupted material flow for manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory levels, supplier performance and procurement costs.

Responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, negotiating supplier contracts, managing MRP/ERP processes and conducting cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy. The role offers a direct hire arrangement and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to supply chain, business, operations, or engineering.
• 5+ years of purchasing, materials management, or supply chain leadership experience.
• Manufacturing environment experience required.
• APICS CPIM/CSCP preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis, including Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Source, negotiate, and manage supplier agreements and contracts.
• Manage MRP/ERP planning processes and inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
• Monitor purchasing spend and budget performance.
