Job summary

Cooper Standard is seeking a Senior Materials Manager to assist the Operations Manager in setting goals and strategies for manufacturing and materials. The role includes budget planning, forecasting, and ensuring adherence to policies related to materials management.

Responsibilities include managing inventory, reducing WIP, and driving continuous improvement while maintaining customer delivery. Strong leadership and automotive materials knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of materials management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• Proven leadership and managerial skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Technical knowledge in automotive manufacturing.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and health of all functional Team Members.
• Ensure cycle counts are performed as required.
• Manage all inventory levels consistent with World Class Manufacturing.
• Develop continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inventory, WIP, raw materials, and finished goods without impacting customer delivery.
• Develop and implement a tactical material flow planning process for production planning departments.
• Develops policy and procedure for plant operations aligned with materials management and quality systems.
• Ensure policies and procedures reflect customer delivery requirements.
• Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline.
• Provide technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers.
• Support and adhere to quality and ISO/IEC 14001 standards.
• May perform other duties as required.
