Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Materials Planner/Buyer to plan, procure, and manage raw materials, packaging components, consumables, and indirect materials for manufacturing operations. You will ensure material availability, optimize inventory, monitor supplier performance, and align with production schedules while maintaining cost and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of GMP materials planning, purchasing, procurement, inventory management experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and data analysis tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional JIT manufacturing environment.
• APICS CPIM, CMRP, CPSM, CSCP, or related certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute material requirements plans (MRP) aligned with forecasted demand and schedules.
• Create, manage, and expedite purchase orders to ensure material availability.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, lead times, and constraints.
• Resolve shortages, backorders, and disruptions through supplier engagement.
• Support new product introductions, transfers, and validation activities.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels balancing service, working capital, shelf life, and storage.
• Analyze inventory trends and reduce excess/obsolete materials.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliations.
• Investigate discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering to mitigate risks.
• Support qualification, dual-sourcing, and contingency planning.
• Escalate supply risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Maintain accurate material master data including lead times and source lists.
• Generate reports and analyze planning data for decisions.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings communicating status and risks.
• Drive Lean and daily management, ensure GMP/CFR compliance.
