Job summary

GCG Custom Engineered Solutions is seeking a Buyer to join the procurement team. You’ll plan and purchase raw materials for cable assembly operations, ensuring on‑time delivery while maintaining optimal inventory levels and cost controls.

This role requires close coordination with internal teams and suppliers to manage demand signals and purchase orders. The position supports production schedules, supplier performance reviews, and cost‑reduction initiatives in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of purchasing/materials planning experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
• Strong understanding of material planning and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from requisition to receipt, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with production needs.
• Plan and maintain inventory levels using MRP outputs and safety stock strategies.
• Source, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers; manage lead times and costs.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure material availability and issue resolution.
