Job summary

Vertiv in Ironton, OH, is seeking a Buyer to coordinate Purchasing, Planning, and Production to ensure material availability for the shop floor. You will proactively identify shortages, expedite orders, and maintain material status to support stable production schedules.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, 3–5 years in manufacturing inventory, and familiarity with ERP and MS Office. A BS in Business Administration is a plus. On-site role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in stockroom, warehousing, or inventory movement.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Validate material availability against the production plan.
• Identify material gaps, risks, and shortages ahead of build dates.
• Expedite purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers as needed.
• Provide early visibility to Planning and Purchasing on constraints.
• Support accurate production schedules with real-time material status.
• Reduce last-minute disruptions and escalation events.
• Coordinate with departments on material shortages/needs.
• Ensure all parts needed for production are ordered or outsourced.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly reports relevant to material status.
