Job summary

Knorr Brake Company in Westminster, MD is seeking a Buyer for direct material to ensure the best mix of price, quality and delivery while building a reliable supplier base. You will focus on KPIs and cost optimization in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities include RFQs, supplier data maintenance, procurement strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration with Project Management, Engineering and Operations. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business or related field.
• Experience in procurement of direct materials and RFQ processes.
• Strong negotiation, data accuracy and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate RFQs and market studies to support critical needs.
• Maintain supplier data for direct material commodities.
• Develop procurement strategy to meet goals in quality, delivery and cost.
• Ensure policy compliance and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering and Operations.
• Interface with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Travel locally and internationally as required.
• Provide general procurement support.
