Job summary

Rocketdyne in Ohio is seeking a Material Planner to plan, order and monitor material for production. The role involves scheduling and forecasting material volumes, ensuring availability, and coordinating with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering to meet delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of material planning experience and strong ERP/MRP skills, preferably with Deltek Costpoint and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
3–5 years of material planning experience.
Experience with ERP manufacturing planning systems, ideally Deltek Costpoint.
Strong knowledge of material ordering, supply chain and inventory.

Responsibilities

Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and maintain minimum safety stock.
Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions.
Check MRP action messages daily and ensure data accuracy.
Understand and manage risk to minimize impact to production schedule.
Follow up on material shortages that affect production.
Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM).
Proficiency with MS Project and Deltek Costpoint.
Make moderate to significant improvements to systems and processes to improve performance.
Engage in complex problem solving and information gathering as needed.
