Job summary

Rocket Lab, based at its Long Beach, CA headquarters, seeks a Senior Material Planner I to drive MRP planning, BOM integrity, and master data governance within a fast-paced space manufacturing environment.

You will partner with engineering, quality, production, and finance to optimize material flow, lead time, and inventory, supporting rocket and satellite programs while advancing procurement and build timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience (9+ total years).
• Proven ability to produce material line of balance, and conduct clear to build reviews.
• Proven knowledge of material planning fundamentals for master data management, order policy, BOM management, and planning release and fulfillment.
• Proficient in MRP systems.
• Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, math and statistics.
• U.S citizenship is required, due to program requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate demand, supply, and fulfilment planning within MRP.
• Ensure bill of materials, parts, and master data are maintained within ERP.
• Release purchase planning messages to procurement in a timely manner.
• Release work orders to production in a timely manner.
• Update demand to accommodate engineering change orders; communicate changes to procurement.
• Provide visibility of material position using line-of-balance and related reports.
• Work in a cross-functional team environment and coordinate across groups to meet company goals.
• Handle other duties as assigned by management.
