Clayton Homes is seeking a Material Planner in Morristown, TN to maintain uninterrupted material flow from vendors to the home building facility. You will release purchase orders, manage shortages, and communicate with customers and suppliers to ensure timely production.

The role requires ERP/Oracle experience, strong analytical skills, and a Lean mindset. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and report to the Warehouse Manager with a dotted line to the Home Office Materials Department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply-Chain Management or Industrial Engineering.
• 7–10 years of equivalent experience in material planning or related fields.
• 3–5 years of material planning, supply-chain planning or building materials management experience.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-starter with a commitment to Lean principles.
• APICS membership or courses preferred.

Responsabilités

• Develop a world-class material planning discipline to support ERP initiatives.
• Collaborate with other disciplines within the facility to align material flow.
• Determine required materials and issue purchase orders.
• Resolve shortages, backlogs and schedule interruptions.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and identify root causes of variance.
• Manage vendor backorders and corrective actions.
• Monitor vendor terms and performance against contracts.
• Prepare reports on inventory usage and efficiency.
