Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a hands-on Purchasing Specialist to support manufacturing operations through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and materials planning.

You will manage procurement for raw materials, components, and services, coordinating with Production, Scheduling, and Engineering to ensure materials are available when needed. The ideal candidate has manufacturing procurement experience, ERP/MRP expertise, and strong negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of manufacturing purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience purchasing raw materials, components, production supplies, or outside services.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, inventory management, and MRP.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Infor XA preferred.
• Ability to negotiate pricing and manage supplier performance.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• U.S. citizenship required; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing for raw materials, components, and outside services.
• Review MRP requirements and schedules to determine purchasing needs.
• Prepare POs, evaluate quotes, negotiate lead times, and select suppliers.
• Develop supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Coordinate with suppliers to set delivery schedules and expedite orders.
• Maintain ERP/MRP records for purchasing, pricing, and inventory.
• Analyze data to identify cost savings and process improvements.
• Track KPIs such as On-Time Delivery and inventory levels.
• Support shipping, receiving, and materials coordination.
• Provide guidance to purchasing team and ensure compliance with requirements.
