Job summary

Magnum Venus Products, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN, seeks a Controller to own MVP's accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and external audit relationships, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and GAAP adherence.

This role reports to the Chief of Staff & Head of Finance, supervises accounting staff, leads monthly, quarterly and annual closes, and partners with operations to drive cost control and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in manufacturing and operational accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all divisions, ensuring GL accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements.
• Assist in preparing and managing annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Maintain and enforce the chart of accounts, account reconciliation cadence, and journal entry approval controls within Epicor.
• Monitor, analyze and control production costs, inventory valuation, and production variances weekly to improve profitability.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize resource allocation, reduce costs, and improve processes.
• Reconcile balance sheet positions monthly and post journal entries daily as required.
• Establish, maintain and enforce robust internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
• Process operational CapEx requests and track asset capitalization.
• Lead annual physical inventory and monthly cycle counts and coordinate with operations for accuracy.
• Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation in collaboration with purchasing/operations.
