Job summary

Magnum Venus Products, Inc. is seeking a Controller to manage and own MVP's accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit relationships. The role ensures the integrity of the general ledger and reports to the Chief of Staff & Head of Finance, interacting with all levels of the organization.

Key duties include monthly closes, budgeting, inventory cost analysis, internal controls, CapEx processing, and tax coordination for US and Canada, while leading the accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years experience in manufacturing and operational accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all divisions, ensuring GL accuracy and timely delivery of financial statements.
• Assist in preparing and managing budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Maintain and enforce the chart of accounts, account reconciliation cadence, and journal entry approval controls within Epicor.
• Monitor, analyze and control production costs, inventory valuation, and production variances weekly to improve profitability.
• Collaborate with operations to optimize resource allocation, reduce costs, and improve processes.
• Reconcile balance sheet positions monthly, prepare, review and post journal entries daily as required.
• Establish, maintain and enforce robust internal controls to ensure financial integrity.
• Process operational CapEx requests, track spending and capitalization of assets.
• Finance lead for annual physical inventory and monthly cycle counts; ensure timely, accurate counts.
• Liaison for annual review and tax preparation for US and Canada.
