Job summary

C&S Machine in Michigan seeks a strategic, hands-on Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close, ensuring timely, accurate statements and executive reporting.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will strengthen internal controls, optimize business processes, partner with operations, and provide actionable insights to drive profitability and informed decisions in a growing manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and cost accounting.
• Experience with manufacturing financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end/year-end close activities.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements, including audits, tax filings, treasury, cash management, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.
• Partner with operations and executive leadership to provide financial analysis, cost accounting, inventory management, job costing, and variance reporting that drive profitability, operational excellence, and informed business decisions.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and operational performance.
• Lead finance-related ERP enhancements and ensure accounting systems effectively support manufacturing and production operations.
