Job summary

CFS, a Denver-area manufacturing firm with $35 million in sales, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting operations and partner with the executive team. The role offers direct collaboration with the CEO and a mandate to drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy while mentoring a 6–7 person accounting team.

You will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, internal controls, and manufacturing cost accounting, ensuring strong controls

Qualifications

• Manufacturing accounting experience with strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and production financials.
• Experience leading accounting teams (6+ direct reports).
• Experience as Controller/Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager in manufacturing; Sage 50 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team while fostering a high-performing culture.
• Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial decisions.
• Oversee inventory and manufacturing cost accounting with operational insights.
• Identify process improvements while maintaining strong internal controls.
