Job summary

Hayes Manufacturing in Fife Lake, MI is seeking a Buyer to drive purchasing for the company and its facilities. You’ll evaluate vendors, issue and track purchase orders, and support materials planning using our MRP system.

Experience coordinating with engineering and production teams is a plus. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of manufacturing buying experience, familiarity with MRP, and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of successful buying experience for manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP systems and inventory control.
• Ability to understand and communicate about mechanical drawings.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Self-starter and energetic.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and confirm purchase orders and maintain records in the MRP system.
• Fulfill special purchase order needs and source when required.
• Issue POs from various sources and manage delivery status.
• Handle supplier quotes and compare pricing for cost effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot order issues and expedite supplies as needed.
• Coordinate with engineering and other departments to fulfill purchasing requirements.
