Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Managing Director, HR & Payroll – Managed Services to lead strategy, growth, and delivery of recurring and non-recurring HR and payroll services. This executive will align people, process, technology, risk, and commercial priorities to scale the practice nationally.

The role requires senior leadership experience in HR, payroll, and benefits, with strong business development and client portfolio management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field is required.
• CPP and/or SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, or other credentials are preferred.
• 15+ years of leadership in HR, payroll, benefits, managed services, or related professional services.
• Proven experience serving multiple clients and managing complex relationships.
• Strong technical payroll, HR and benefits experience; ability to guide specialists.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the service line strategy, operating model, annual plan, and multi-year growth for the Managed Services HRS Payroll & HR practice.
• Translate strategy into differentiated HR/payroll solutions and scalable delivery models with measurable business outcomes.
• Maintain executive relationships with C-suite and senior stakeholders and lead responses to high-risk client matters.
• Oversee service delivery standards, client experience, and quality controls across the portfolio.
• Originate new client relationships and expand existing accounts through executive-level business development.
