Oberlin College & Conservatory is seeking a Major Gifts Officer / Associate Major Gifts Officer to manage donor relationships and drive major and principal-level gifts. The role covers high-end annual giving and major gifts, with national travel and engagement across alumni and donors.

You will develop work plans, collaborate with various advancement teams, and steward donors while meeting annual metrics and strategic fundraising goals. Strong writing and relationship-building are essential.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree and experience with personal solicitation and marketing, preferably in an academic or nonprofit environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally.
• Excellent written and oral communication to articulate the liberal arts value and philanthropic need.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to think strategically and tactically to set and achieve fundraising goals.
• Proven relationship-building skills with diverse constituencies.

Responsabilidades

• Manage donor relationships by planning and executing strategies for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts.
• Drive gifts from high-end annual giving to major gifts, with potential for principal-level opportunities.
• Develop an annual work plan with metrics for discovery visits, meetings, dollars raised, strategies, solicitations and proposals.
• Collaborate with Advancement staff to strengthen leadership annual giving and major gifts programs.
• Respond to donor inquiries and work with Donor Relations to steward donors.
• Create and submit contact reports detailing donor interactions in a timely manner.
• Assist in staffing development and alumni events such as Homecoming and Reunion Weekend.
• Attend department meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices.
