Job summary

Zekelman Industries, located in Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to strengthen preventive maintenance and improve work order planning. You will collaborate with maintenance leads, production teams, and operations leadership to ensure maintenance activities are well planned, tracked, and optimized using SAP.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and strong skills in data analysis, scheduling, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-craft industrial maintenance experience with SAP.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (pivot tables/ Formulas).
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems and maintenance processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.
• Basic math and ability to read technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes maintenance methods and implements improvements to the preventive maintenance program.
• Tracks KPIs related to equipment reliability, planning efficiency, and department performance.
• Establishes and improves planning, scheduling, stores, and data management processes to optimize maintenance resources.
• Collaborates with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize backlogs and align schedules with plant priorities.
• Creates, formats, and enters job task lists and maintenance plans into SAP.
• Maintains accurate equipment maintenance history and technical documentation for processes and equipment.
• Prepares daily maintenance schedules and work packets, including tasks, routes, and non-emergency repairs.
• Ensures accurate completion and timely return of all work orders by maintenance staff and contractors.
• Prepares maintenance outage schedules using project management software.
• Leads daily maintenance planning and work review meetings.
• Monitors all parts sent out for repair and manages return logistics.
