Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ, seeks a Maintenance Planner- Specialist Engineering to ensure smooth operation of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance across our facilities.

You will develop work plans, manage CMMS data, and coordinate with multiple teams to optimize scheduling, execution, and asset reliability. The role supports audits and regulatory inspections and upholds safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or technical field or equivalent industry experience.
• 3 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent in a maintenance organization.
• Knowledge of large industrial equipment and components; strong safety awareness.
• Proficiency with CMMS and Excel; ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes to work orders and develop maintenance work plans for scheduling.
• Perform field inspections and determine job scopes and necessary resources.
• Update CMMS records and maintain plant history files.
• Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel and prepare reports.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, safety, and environmental regulations.
