Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit is seeking a Long Term Mine Planning Engineer in Helvetia, AZ to drive long-range ore scheduling and pit optimization. You will develop Life-of-Mine plans, coordinate with environmental and operations teams, and guide capital investments through rigorous analysis.

The role requires a mining engineering degree with 5+ years in open-pit mine planning and strong financial modeling skills. Local travel and a collaborative, safety-driven culture are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering required.
• 5+ years in open-pit mine engineering with 3+ years in mine planning preferred.
• Expert-level knowledge of mine planning software and optimization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Life-of-Mine plans and pit optimization.
• Design and evaluate pushbacks to maintain ore access and safe walls.
• Determine cut-off grade strategies to maximize project NPV.
• Coordinate with WRFs, tailings, and utilities for integrated planning.
• Forecast CAPEX and long-term resource modeling with geologists.
