Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degrees preferred.
• 2+ years in transportation or logistics, OTR preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and regulations.
• Proficient with load planning software and TMS.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and assign OTR freight loads to drivers based on availability, hours of service, and equipment type.
• Monitor driver schedules to ensure timely pick-up and delivery.
• Maximize asset utilization and load efficiency, minimize empty miles.
• Communicate with drivers, dispatchers, and customer service to resolve issues and provide updates.
• Maintain detailed records of load planning activities, delays and exceptions.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with sales to understand forecasts and capacity needs; adapt to changes.
