Job summary

Penske Logistics in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Load Planner to coordinate freight movements, plan and optimize shipments, and tender freight to carriers using the Transportation Manager System.

You will provide visibility to customers, manage inquiries, maintain daily logs, and support continuous improvement across shifts. Requires high school diploma, 1+ year in transportation/supply chain, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to learn and regularly operate various computer systems across different platforms.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers and Penske associates.
• Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information and make decisions within SOP.
• Ability to work First, Second and Third shifts as needed; scheduling flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Load-building: add shipments to a load, rate a load, secure carrier coverage and set appointments.
• Provide excellent Customer Service to assigned account(s).
• Call Center and shared email box responsibility.
• Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking shipments and auditing operations.
• Recover customer loads and resolve issues.
• Complete daily logs and trackers; provide instructions for other shifts by phone and e-mail.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
