Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Load Planner in Reading, PA. The role coordinates freight movement, processes orders, plans and optimizes shipments, and publishes shipment information in the Transportation Manager System.

You will tender freight to carriers, track performance, and respond to inquiries to maintain smooth operations. Responsibilities include load-building, securing carrier coverage, and providing visible updates to customers and management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• 1+ year of Transportation/Supply Chain experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and operate multiple computer systems across platforms.
• Willingness to travel and work varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage loads: add shipments, rate, and secure carrier coverage.
• Provide excellent customer service to assigned accounts.
• Handle call center and shared email box responsibilities.
• Provide shipment visibility and issue resolution for management and customers.
• Recover customer loads and maintain daily logs and trackers.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by supervisor.
