Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a Load Planner in Reading, PA to coordinate freight movement and customer service. You will process orders, plan and optimize shipments, tender freight, and update systems while responding to inquiries from internal and external customers.

The role requires detail orientation, strong communication, and the ability to work across multiple shifts. Prior experience in transportation or supply chain and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in Transportation or Supply Chain preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and operate various computer systems across platforms.
• Ability to develop professional relationships with customers and Penske associates.
• Ability to use critical thinking to analyze information and solve problems.
• Willingness to work First, Second and Third shifts as needed; schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Load-building: add shipments to a load, rate a load, secure carrier coverage and appointment setting.
• Provide excellent Customer Service to assigned account(s).
• Call Center and shared email box responsibility.
• Provide visibility by tracking shipments and auditing operations.
• Recover customer loads.
• Complete daily logs and trackers; provide instructions for various customers and shifts.
• Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
