Job summary

Dow Jones seeks a Legal Counsel in New York City to lead litigation support across a broad range of business and corporate functions. The role requires practical, solution‑oriented legal advice balancing risk with commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment.

You will partner with internal colleagues and outside counsel, manage complex matters, review and draft various agreements, and help maintain templates, playbooks, and training materials for consistency and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to the New York bar in good standing or registered for in-house counsel per NY rules.
• 5–7 years of relevant litigation experience; in-house a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide litigation advice in the U.S. and abroad across disputes, subpoenas, and regulatory matters.
• Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel on filings and discovery responses.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements including confidentiality and settlements.
• Maintain matter-management practices with trackers, budgets, and leadership updates.
• Stay current on legal developments including privacy, AI, and evolving regulatory issues.
