Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Manager to provide strategic direction, governance, and operational leadership for LIS across Clinical Pathology, Anatomic Pathology, and Blood Bank. You will align technology with patient care goals and regulatory requirements.

As primary liaison among IR, Lab leadership, clinicians, and vendors, you will drive upgrades, integrations, security, and performance while mentoring the LIS team and delivering

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Bachelor's with major coursework in CS, math, information systems or related field.
• Experience: 8 years IT experience with HS or 6 years IT experience with Bachelor's plus 2 years in supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for LIS and related applications.
• Lead planning, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of LIS across departments.
• Establish governance processes, prioritization frameworks, and project portfolios for LIS initiatives.
• Partner with laboratory leadership, pathologists, clinicians, and stakeholders to identify needs.
• Ensure system reliability, security, and scalability across laboratory applications.
• Direct complex projects including upgrades, integrations, and workflow enhancements.
• Oversee vendor relationships and service delivery to meet expectations.
• Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, FDA, HIPAA and other requirements.
• Develop policies and standards for LIS and data management.
• Drive risk assessment, validation, testing, and issue resolution.
