Qualifications

• Three years of laboratory training and experience required.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a chemical, physical, biological science, or medical technology.
• ASCP certification or equivalent within 12 months of hire date.
• Experience in high complexity testing preferred.
• Self-directed with excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs LIS according to CAP standards: SOPs, interfaces, data retrieval, preservation, system maintenance, auto-verification, and security.
• Plans and directs development, implementation, and modification of information storage, retrieval systems, computer operating systems, and large applications.
• Oversees prioritization, planning, and maintenance of LIS projects.
• Assists in evaluating and implementing new technologies and development tools.
• Creates testing standards for development, documentation and validation.
• Develops documentation, policies, and procedures for LIS.
• Directs creation of technical reports, manuals, and memoranda on programming systems.
• Participates in LIS staff training.
• Ensures laboratory systems integrate with other DHR systems.
