Job summary

The Broad Institute seeks a Licensing Associate to join the Office of Strategic Alliances & Partnering (OSAP). The role focuses on evaluating technologies, managing inquiries, and advancing licensing opportunities in a fast-paced environment.

You will work closely with BD professionals, transaction attorneys, and faculty to move inventions toward commercialization. Ideal candidates have MS/PhD in science or engineering with experience in tech transfer, strong Excel/data skills, and excellent

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in science or engineering required.
• At least 1 year of related experience in a university technology transfer office or equivalent preferred.
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter, and highly independent with translational research interest.
• Experience with legal agreements, terms and conditions, and document negotiation desirable.
• Understanding of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and assess technologies and inventions; assemble commercially viable portfolios.
• Identify potential licensees and collaboration opportunities.
• Triage inquiries; research and evaluate company information for licensing and partnerships.
• Collaborate with BD team to market IP assets and build industry relationships.
• Support drafting of term sheets, licenses, and collaboration agreements; coordinate with contracts team.
