Job summary

Kastle Systems in Plymouth, MI, seeks Director, Legal & Contracts to lead contract review, negotiation, and risk management across customers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers. This role partners with executive leadership to balance legal protection with speed of business.

You will manage outside counsel, guide employment and compliance matters across states, and develop standard templates and playbooks to accelerate routine agreements while maintaining strong governance.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of legal experience, including at least 3 years in-house.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate customer contracts, master service agreements, and statements of work.
• Review and negotiate construction-related agreements with general contractors and owners, including AIA and ConsensusDocs forms.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates, a negotiation playbook with approved fallback positions.
• Identify, assess, and communicate legal and contractual risk in plain terms with practical recommendations.
• Manage outside counsel and legal budgets; support governance and due diligence.
