Kastle Systems in Chicago is seeking a Director, Legal & Contracts to serve as the senior legal advisor to the executive team. This role leads contract review and negotiation across customers, subcontractors, vendors, and manufacturers, while providing practical counsel on commercial, employment, compliance, and risk matters.

The Director balances legal protection with speed of business, guiding leaders to make sound decisions and keep projects moving.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8+ years legal experience, including 3+ years in-house.
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, preferably construction, technology, or services.

Responsibilities

• Lead contract review and negotiation for customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Provide practical legal counsel on commercial, employment, compliance, and risk matters.
• Develop contract templates and negotiation playbooks with approval thresholds.
• Collaborate with Finance on insurance, bonding, and risk management.
• Oversee outside counsel and manage legal spend.
• Support corporate governance and due diligence for partnerships.
