Job summary

Extend is seeking a Manager, Risk Analytics to own the Risk Function, define pricing methodology, and lead the team of data scientists. You’ll influence portfolio decisions and set standards in collaboration with senior leadership.

This role blends hands-on analytics with people leadership, mentoring senior analysts, and advancing AI-native workflows. You’ll architect data foundations on dbt/Snowflake and raise the team’s technical bar while delivering measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in actuarial pricing, predictive modeling, or other Risk Analytics related areas, with a track record of owning methodology or strategy.
• Strong analytical and data skills spanning SQL, Python or R, pipeline development and data modeling (dbt, Snowflake), and visualization tools such as Tableau or Streamlit
• Demonstrated experience mentoring senior analysts or data scientists and raising a team's technical bar without formal authority

Responsibilities

• Set the pricing methodology, not just the price. Pricing the risk premium accurately is essential for Extend’s economics.
• Own the risk strategy conversation with senior leadership and defend trade-offs.
• Turn a monitoring function into a decision engine and drive it into business processes.
• Architect the data foundation for Risk Analytics on top of dbt and Snowflake.
• Raise the floor for the whole team by mentoring and driving AI-native ways of working
