Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads seeks a Senior Director of People and Culture to drive human capital strategies and initiatives across supported divisions. You will partner with senior leaders to align objectives with employees and lead culture, engagement, and leadership development.

Responsibilities include employee relations, onboarding optimization, recruitment collaboration, performance management, and compliance, all while upholding the YMCA values and mission in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in human resources, recruiting and employee relations.
• 4-year college degree preferred in human resources, labor/employee relations, organizational/leadership development or related field.
• PHR or Management & Employee Relations professional designation/certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting human resources compliance.
• Proficiency with employee relations, progressive performance management, investigations, and EEO.
• Exhibits a positive attitude and ability to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds and promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
• High level of confidentiality and commitment to YMCA philosophy and values.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR business partner to leadership and support recruitment and onboarding improvements.
• Lead employee relations and engagement initiatives and drive leadership development.
• Collaborate with Hiring Managers through recruitment processes and candidate experience.
• Support onboarding/training initiatives and maintain personnel records.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance across HR activities.
• Coordinate with HR leadership to implement culture and engagement initiatives.
