Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a VP of Land to lead the division's land team and build a robust pipeline of quality communities in Austin, TX. You will report to the Division President and collaborate with senior leaders to drive profitability and viable project opportunities.

The role requires strong communication, budgeting, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on detailed financial modeling and market analysis to support strategic land investments.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of related land acquisition experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business-related field; Finance/Real Estate preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable presenting ideas to leadership and partners.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Responsibilities

• Prepare initial land acquisition and development budgets for prospective lands.
• Develop relationships with brokers, developers, sellers, and market players to build land pipeline.
• Oversee the land analyst to validate project models and proposals.
• Ensure detailed financial models reflect profitability and returns.
• Research data on comps, demographics, product competition, entitlements, trends.
• Create investment packages for land committee meetings and investors.
• Support due diligence and maintain land pipeline and ownership data.
