Job summary

City of Watonga, OK seeks a Director of Economic and Community Development to lead growth and vitality efforts in Watonga. The role reports to the City Manager and drives strategies linking entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, tourism, arts, and quality of place to sustainable community outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a visible, boots-on-the-ground leader with strong coalitions, excellent communication, and the ability to translate opportunities into action while building partnerships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as listed in field requirements.
• Minimum of three years in economic development, community development, city management or marketing.
• EDI/ BEDC completion or CEcD a plus; equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead economic and community development initiatives and strategies.
• Build productive relationships with officials, partners, business leaders and residents.
• Promote Watonga as a quality place to live, work, visit and do business.
