Job summary

City of Guthrie seeks a Planning Director to lead the City's planning and development efforts, overseeing long-range and comprehensive planning, zoning, development review, and historic preservation. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities while building positive community relationships and driving economic development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning or related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Three years of progressively responsible municipal or regional planning experience.
• AICP Certification required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
• Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain and maintain driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead long-range and comprehensive planning, zoning and development review.
• Oversee community engagement, grant administration, historic preservation, and economic development initiatives.
• Collaborate with residents, developers, City staff, boards and elected officials to guide growth while preserving Guthrie's historic character.
