Job summary

Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County seeks an experienced Criminal Intelligence Analyst Supervisor to provide administrative and managerial oversight for the Crime & Intelligence Analysis Unit and the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). You will manage personnel, establish policies, and ensure timely, accurate intelligence to support public safety initiatives.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, five years in crime/intelligence analysis, and two years of supervisory experience,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or a closely related field with five years of professional experience in crime or intelligence analysis, data analytics, statistics, research, or related field.
Two years supervisory experience required.
Must possess the Crime Intelligence Analysis Certification from the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background investigation and maintain clearance to access law enforcement databases (e.g., NCIC/GCIC).

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all operations of the Crime & Intelligence Analysis Unit and RTCC, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities.
Supervise, evaluate, and develop Criminal Intelligence Analysts I, II, and Senior, including performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
Establish policies, procedures, and performance metrics for analytical operations to ensure quality and compliance with laws.
Direct workload distribution, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet investigative and operational demands.
Oversee procurement, budget planning, and technology acquisitions to support unit capabilities.
Serve as the primary liaison between the unit, command staff, and external agencies; manage interagency agreements.
Develop and present reports, briefings, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Plan long-term strategic initiatives including technology integration and program expansion.
Conduct advanced-level analysis of crime data to identify patterns and trends.
Create analytical products such as timelines, charts, and geo-location maps.
Stay informed of advancements in crime analysis to guide unit development and training priorities.
