Job summary

The City of Mesa seeks a strategic Community and Housing Services Director to lead housing, community development, human services, and accessibility efforts. You will align programs with City priorities, manage federal grants, and build partnerships with nonprofits and regional partners.

The ideal candidate will bring a Bachelor's degree, seven years of senior leadership experience, and strong communication and negotiation skills to advance an inclusive, high‑performing organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least seven years of progressively responsible managerial, supervisory, and administrative experience.
• At least three years in housing, community development, human services, neighborhood services, federal grant programs, or a related municipal area; OR a Bachelor's in Public/Business Administration, Sociology, Social Work, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for departmental operations and long‑range planning.
• Oversee federal grant administration, policy development, and partnerships with community stakeholders.
• Advise City leadership and translate strategic priorities into effective programs with measurable results.
