Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp is seeking a Manager of Transmission Planning to lead a team of supervisors and engineers responsible for transmission planning across FirstEnergy's systems. The role focuses on safe and reliable operation, interconnection studies, and capital portfolio development.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license (or eligibility), a BSEE from an ABET-accredited program, and at least seven years of relevant experience, with strong analytical and communication skills to interact with

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from ABET-accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or willingness to obtain.
Minimum 7 years of related work experience in transmission planning or related fields.
Familiarity with PJM, RFC and NERC practices and procedures in transmission planning.

Responsibilities

Leads a diverse staff ensuring safety and performance guidelines are followed.
Manages studies and planning activities for reliable operation of FE transmission systems.
Develops and implements engineering/operational plans aligned with company goals.
Oversees day-to-day delivery of programs and services to maintain or improve quality.
