Job summary

Essen Health Care in New York seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President of Operations for Specialty to oversee multi-site operations, improve processes, and ensure high-quality patient care across specialty services.

You will lead a diverse team, align operational strategy with financial performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive technology integration and quality improvement initiatives to support Essen’s population health goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7–10 years of progressive healthcare operations experience, with leadership roles in specialty areas.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities to guide a multi-disciplinary team.
• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, patient care standards, and budgeting in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for specialty services across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and high-quality patient care.
• Optimize workflows, allocate resources, and manage staffing for specialty care units.
• Develop and implement long-term strategies to expand and improve specialty services.
• Oversee budgets, financial performance, and revenue cycle processes for specialty care.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, and other standards.
• Manage and develop healthcare managers, supervisors, and staff.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to enhance outcomes and patient safety.
• Integrate technology (EHR, telemedicine) to support operations.
• Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate care.
