Job summary

O'Melveny & Myers LLP is seeking a Lateral Attorney Recruiting Manager to oversee lateral attorney recruitment for our ten U.S. offices, focusing on associate and counsel hires.

You will partner with leadership, manage full-cycle recruitment, and ensure a high-quality candidate experience across New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Significant experience in attorney recruiting, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle lateral attorney recruitment, ideally for associate- and counsel-level hiring.
• Strong knowledge of the legal recruiting market, including search firm relationships and lateral hiring practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, senior leadership, candidates, and external recruiters.
• Strong project management, organizational, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities simultaneously.
• Analytical mindset with experience tracking recruiting metrics and using data to inform hiring strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to anticipate and assess hiring needs across offices.
• Develop prioritized search plans and prepare hiring requests for leadership approval.
• Manage full-cycle lateral recruiting for each approved search from draft to onboarding.
• Draft postings, source and screen candidates, coordinate interviews and offers.
• Develop and maintain candidate pipelines through referrals, search firms, direct sourcing, and other channels.
• Maintain productive relationships with search firms and set expectations for quality and responsiveness.
• Communicate hiring priorities to search firms and track candidate activity in ATS.
