Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Land Purchasing Manager to lead contracting with land development vendors, review civil plans, and help manage development budgets. You will oversee bids, issue contracts, and forecast expenditures, collaborating with project managers to ensure timely, cost-effective development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree in civil engineering or geotechnical preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in raw land development, civil engineering, value engineering, or estimating.
• Offsite purchasing experience highly preferred; infrastructure, grading, or environmental experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of residential development and homebuilding industry preferred.
• Sound financial management and project management skills; ability to influence and negotiate.
• Experience with JD Edwards accounting systems and Build Pro payment/scheduling software preferred.
• Experience with takeoff tools such as Bluebeam or Planswift.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record; ability to read and interpret blueprints and civil plans.

Responsibilities

• Review civil construction drawings and ensure compliance with Lennar standards.
• Work with Project Managers to keep development budgets current and accurate.
• Oversee bidding to secure best price, quality, and performance; issue contracts and purchase orders.
• Track contracts and purchase orders against development budgets; assist in cash flow forecasting.
• Monitor supplier costs and vendor performance; maintain purchasing records and documentation.
• Coordinate development cost estimates with land acquisition for feasibility.
