Forestar Group Inc. is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager-FG in its Operations department. The role focuses on finding, contracting, and closing on land that meets the division's needs.

You will lead the Land Acquisition Department, manage due diligence, entitlements, budgets, and relationships with counsel and landowners to drive strategic growth. The position requires extensive experience, travel, and cross-functional coordination with design and development teams to advance opportunities and

Qualifications

• Fifth year college or university program certificate.
• Seven to ten years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate all land acquisition activities.
• Identify and qualify potential land acquisitions in alignment with division goals.
• Oversee due diligence with internal design and land development teams.
• Manage entitlement needs for land acquisitions and post-closing steps.
• Develop departmental overhead budget and monitor spending.
• Coordinate land purchase contracts with division and outside counsel.
• Develop business relationships and scout other acquisition opportunities.
• Negotiate acquisitions with landowners, attorneys or brokers.
• Prepare land valuation analysis and corporate budgets for approvals.
• Prepare memoranda and analytics for corporate approval of land buys.
• Travel overnight as required.
