Job summary

Forestar Group Inc. is seeking a Land Acquisition Manager-FG to lead the land acquisition department, sourcing new land opportunities, and guiding due diligence through to close.

The role requires coordinating with design, land development, and legal teams to meet division goals and budgets. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in land acquisition, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to travel overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Fifth year college/university program certificate required.
• 7–10 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a vehicle and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate all land acquisition activities.
• Identify and qualify potential land acquisitions in alignment with division goals.
• Manage due diligence including master planning with internal design and land development teams.
• Oversee entitlement processes and budget development for land acquisitions.
• Coordinate land/lot purchase contracts with division and external counsel.
• Develop relationships with landowners, brokers, and community stakeholders.
• Prepare land valuation analyses and corporate budgets for approvals.
• Travel overnight as required.
