Clean Harbors is seeking a Director, Labor Relations to oversee all labor relations activities, including collective bargaining, contract administration and policy development. The role involves negotiation, training and collaboration with HR and legal teams to address labor-related challenges and ensure a fair workplace.

The ideal candidate brings extensive labor relations and employment law experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to travel up to 50%+ as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Labor Relations, HR, or related field.
• 10+ years of Labor Relations experience.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong research and data analysis capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel; strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Sits first chair in contract negotiations for all labor contracts.
• Collaborates with site management on labor relations issues; mediate disputes and ensure policy/CA compliance.
• Build good relationships with union leadership, supervisors, HR staff.
• Communicate labor laws, regulations, and policies to managers and employees.
• Prepare and conduct labor relations training programs.
• Participate in union campaign response coordination.
• Conduct needs assessments and develop training curricula for managers.
• Monitor and report labor relations trends and events.
