Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Head of Lab Procurement in Chicago to lead strategic sourcing across sequencing equipment, consumables, and service contracts. You will champion AI-driven tools to automate tasks and improve spend visibility.

The role requires 8–10+ years in lab procurement, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong negotiation and cross-site leadership. Competitive salary and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in lab procurement, preferably in tech or healthcare.
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Experience with ERP and procurement platforms.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for critical lab spend (e.g., sequencing equipment pacing, consumables, service contracts).
• Partner with stakeholders across lab sites to align procurement with roadmaps and budgets.
• Define cost savings targets and drive total cost of ownership reduction while maintaining quality and SLAs.
