Job summary

O’Melveny is seeking a dynamic Knowledge & Research Services Manager to lead research and library services across California or Texas offices. You will manage a team of Research Analysts and guide the strategy for AI-assisted research tools.

You will collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver timely, high-quality research, oversee budgets, and evaluate new electronic resources. Strong leadership and client-service skills are required.

Qualifications

JD, MLS, or MLIS required.
Six years of research experience in a legal environment preferred.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent client service and teamwork skills.
Experience with standard legal resources (Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, WK Intelliconnect, Pacer).
Ability to work under time constraints and in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the effective performance of all knowledge and research services within assigned office(s).
Supervise Research Analysts and provide ongoing professional development and support.
Advise attorneys on the effective use of AI-assisted research tools and evaluate AI outputs for accuracy.
Monitor developments using alerting platforms to deliver proactive current awareness.
Collaborate with Electronic Resources team to test, evaluate, and acquire new electronic products and platforms.
Work with Senior Knowledge Services Manager to meet office budget requirements.
Coordinate technical services operations including invoice processing, onboarding, and vendor coordination.
Performs other duties as assigned.
