Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking a Senior IT Category Manager to lead sourcing and vendor governance for IT hardware, software and services. You will partner with stakeholders to develop category strategies, run RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, and analyze total cost of ownership to optimize value.

The role emphasizes negotiation, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration within a Hybrid-Flex environment. A strong background in procurement and vendor management is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a related field; 7+ years if no degree.
• Experience with IT hardware, software and services sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Establish sourcing strategies for IT categories with stakeholders, focusing on IT hardware and expanding to software/services.
• Conduct sourcing events; develop project plans, category profiles, strategies, requirements and evaluation criteria.
• Develop and manage RFPs, RFIs, RFQs; track status and performance metrics.
• Forecast market dynamics and share expertise to optimize portfolio value.
• Lead cross-functional vendor negotiations and coordinate supplier relationship management.
• Assess vendor risks and coordinate remediation plans; ensure contract compliance.
