City of Portland, Oregon is seeking an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) within the Technology Shared Services division. The BRM will build trusted relationships with City leaders, translate business strategies into technology plans, and guide investment decisions to align with Citywide priorities.

The role collaborates with SATMs, BTS Core teams, and delivery partners to shape demand, roadmaps, and governance, ensuring a coordinated One BTS experience and effective technology planning

Qualifications

• Experience applying business relationship management principles in a complex organization.
• Ability to connect business strategy to technology planning and investments.
• Strong communication across executive, business, and technical audiences.
• Experience facilitating strategic discussions among multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to establish trusted relationships across organizational boundaries.
• Experience contributing to portfolio management, road mapping, budgeting, or investment planning.

Responsabilités

• Build strategic relationships with SATMs and Service Area leaders to understand goals and needs.
• Translate business direction into technology implications and investment needs.
• Clarify outcomes, value, timing, funding, risks, and success measures before selecting a path.
• Collaborate on technology roadmaps, budgets, and significant investments.
• Work across boundaries to identify shared solutions and a coordinated BTS experience.
• Effectively communicate complex issues and surface needs before escalations.
