Samsung SDS America is seeking a highly strategic IT Procurement Specialist to manage end-to-end sourcing of our technology assets. You will partner with IT, Finance, and Legal to shape procurement strategy, optimize spend, and ensure SLA compliance.

The role emphasizes TCO analysis, vendor management, and risk mitigation, with on-site collaboration in Plano, Texas, and a focus on data-driven cost savings and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Vendor Management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of IT vendors, enterprise software licensing models, and IT asset management lifecycles.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis and build data-driven business cases for technology investments.
• Proven track record of negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and SLAs with tier-one technology vendors.
• Proficiency with ERP and internal procurement/PO systems, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with hiring managers, business leaders, vendors, and candidates.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and suppliers for hardware, software, and IT infrastructure.
• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Maintain and manage strategic relationships with key technology partners and vendors to ensure priority support and competitive pricing.
• Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management: Conduct regular vendor performance reviews to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards.
• Procurement & Purchasing Execution: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from analyzing internal purchase requests to issuing Purchase Orders (POs) and finalizing deliveries.
• Procurement & Purchasing Execution: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and licensing agreements to optimize cost savings without compromising quality or operational speed.
• Procurement & Purchasing Execution: Coordinate directly with the Finance department to ensure timely payment processing and strict budget alignment.
• Lifecycle & Asset Management: Collaborate with IT engineering and operations teams to define technical specifications for hardware (laptops, servers, network devices) and software requirements.
• Lifecycle & Asset Management: Oversee the IT asset lifecycle, including tracking procurement dates, warranty expirations, and coordinating hardware refreshes.
• Lifecycle & Asset Management: Manage software license compliance and enterprise renewals to prevent service interruptions and mitigate legal risks.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Develop and monitor the annual IT procurement budget, providing executive leadership with regular reports on spending trends and cost-saving initiatives.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Conduct market research and benchmarking to stay ahead of IT product trends and global pricing fluctuations.
• Budgeting & Analysis: Analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for major IT investments to provide data-driven purchasing recommendations to management.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities strictly adhere to corporate policies and legal regulations.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Mitigate supply chain risks by diversifying vendor sources and proactively monitoring global logistics trends.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Review and negotiate complex vendor contracts in close collaboration with the Legal team to protect company interests.
