Job summary

Smiths Detection, a global leader in security and detection solutions, is seeking an IT Business Partner to bridge IT and business units in Maryland. You will shape demand, translate strategy into technology roadmaps, and partner with senior leaders to deliver measurable value.

The role requires 5+ years of relevant experience and strong governance understanding. You’ll collaborate across enterprise architecture, cyber, and IT strategy while guiding multi-year roadmaps and demand management.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Systems or Business Administration; minimum 5 years’ experience.
• Knowledge: IT Business Partnering, IT Engagement, or senior Business Analysis/Consulting roles; strong stakeholder management.
• Skills: translate business strategy into actionable technology plans; understand IT delivery models; PMO governance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary IT point of contact for designated business units.
• Translate business strategies into technology opportunities aligned with enterprise architecture and IT strategy.
• Capture, assess, and prioritise business demand for technology solutions; evaluate ROI and benefits.
• Maintain an accurate view of the IT portfolio with PMO and delivery teams.
• Ensure high‑quality IT services and act as escalation point for service issues.
